“SamandRail Company,” as the logistics branch of “Iran Khodro Company,” successfully transported SUVs produced by Iran Khodro Company to North Khorasan via rail in record time. This achievement has been added to the country’s rail portfolio.
Amir Reza Taherian, the General Manager of SamandRail, explained that transporting SUVs posed challenges due to the roofed train carriages. However, SamandRail, being the leading owner of car transport wagons in the country, overcame these challenges.
Taherian further stated that a trial shipment of Haima vehicles to Iran Khodro Industrial Group was completed in October. Subsequently, the shipment of SUVs from Abu-Moslem Khorasan Station to Iran Khodro Industrial Group intensified. Through coordination with the Islamic Republic of Iran Railways, modifications were made to the train wagons, allowing successful test shipments of Haima Iran Khodro products, including “S7 Plus,” “S5,” and “CX 7x”
SamandRail’s CEO mentioned plans to transport such cars via both road and rail methods within the next three to four months, delivering them to various parts of the country and even foreign markets. He highlighted SamandRail’s expertise in cross-border sectors, citing the history of exporting cars from Tehran to Mersin in Turkey. Additionally, he emphasized the practicality and effectiveness of rail transportation, especially during adverse weather conditions in the second half of the year. The reduced fare for rail transportation compared to road transport was noted as a valuable cost-saving opportunity for producers.
